At the hub of the Gold Coast is
Flamingo. The photo on the left was taken from the air looking inland
(south-east) and shows the Flamingo peninsula with its beautiful white
Flamingo Beach on the right and Potrero
Bay on the left.
The hill on the far end of the Flamingo Beach is the older developed area of
Flamingo. Newer developments are occuring on the peninsula itself and toward the
areas of Potrero to the north and Brasilito/Conchal to the south. The
Flamingo Beach Marina can be seen on
the north side of the peninsula and the large, pink Flamingo Beach Hotel on the
south side (directly across the peninsula from the marina). Between them lies "down
town" Flamingo.
One feature of this area warranting its own series of photos is the
sunset at Flamingo Beach.
The photograph above was scanned from a postcard picture taken by Jean Mercier (68-1992).
